How do I set a guideline status label visible for viewers?

Modified on Fri, 14 Aug at 5:25 PM

Status labels allow you to communicate the status of your guideline to viewers. They can be used to indicate the guideline status to both readers of public guidelines, and to authors and reviewers of guidelines in development that aren’t public. The status labels available are:

  • Under development
  • Public review
  • External review
  • Internal review
  • Draft – for internal use
  • Published – for internal use
  • Under update
  • Updated

You can also opt to have no status label.

To set or change a status label, you can do so at different stages of the guideline process: during guideline development, when publishing a new version as part of the publication settings, or after the guideline has been published.

Set or change the status label during guideline development

To set the status label, go to "General settings", and then select “Set status labels visible for viewers”.

Once you have set the status label, reload your page to view the status label.

Select the status label when publishing a guideline

You can also select the status label when publishing a new guideline version. Go to Settings > Publishing, version history and subscription, then select Publish new version. Choose the status label you want to display, add the other publication details, and continue with the publishing process.

Change the status label of a published guideline

You can change the status label of a published guideline without republishing the guideline. Enter edit mode, go to General settings, publishing, version history and subscription.

Click Edit in the published version and select the new status label you want to display to readers. Update any other information as needed, then click Update. The new status label will be visible to viewers without requiring you to publish a new guideline version.
