How to link to evidence profiles - PICO widgets

Modified on Fri, 8 Nov at 10:05 AM

For an overview of ways to link content in MAGICapp, see Help article.

Your interactive summary of finding (SoF) tables can be integrated on any website as pop-ups or embedded tables, using a simple html code available from all PICOs. Go to Options -> Links and widgets.

The widget enables readers to view an interactive, multilayered version of the SoF, including all outcome details, practical issues, narrative evidence summary, and references.

See how the PICO widget looks by testing this example:

This feature can be used when publishing guidelines or evidence summaries in your own platform, to show interactive SoF tables directly on your page. It can also be used in texts referencing the evidence from a PICO question, giving the readers direct access to the evidence without having to leave the place they read.

The widgets can be shown as open with the evidence profile showing, or closed, to save space if the table is embedded. You can choose to display always the most recent version, or one specific version of the evidence.

Widgets can be used in three ways: 1) embedded on any website or web document, 2) as a pop-up window (including within MAGICapp), and 3) in a different browser window. The size of the widgets is adjustable by changing the width and height in the code.

To direct users to the decision aid graphical version of the evidence, use the Recommendation widget with the decision aid tab open.
